Description

Here is another basic exercise, and in this one we're using a G chord. It's the same exercise, to help you get used to using your fingers with a pick.

When you play the 6th string, you use the pick. When you play the double stop, you use your fingers. You want your picking hand where you can pull up on the 3rd, and 4th strings with the middle and ring finger. Use the full chord, eventhough you're not playing all the strings.

I'm not using any muting techniques on this exercise either, that will come in later lessons. This is about getting used to using your fingers, with a pick.

This one is also a root/5 exercise, the root is the 6th (big E) string in the 3rd fret, and the open 4th (D) string is the 5th note. The open 3rd (G) string is another G note, and remember to play them with your fingers.
