Does anyone have any suggestions to what else I should learn? I can play almost every Nirvana song, alot of silverchair, Some Boc, rush, stone sour, and alot of other songs. I do know alot of scales and stuff but i don't know what else to learn, any ideas would help alot. I also understand the chord and scale theory too, but probably not to the extreme.

Radiohead is quite good. Quite varied in terms of difficulty.

Nirvana were cool, I used to play all of their songs when I was begining Guitar playing.

I suggest you start learning Led Zeppelin,GNR ,Metallica, Megadeth, Pantera , Aerosmith, Scorpions, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Jimi Hendrix, AC/DC , The Beatles ...

You should also consider playing stuff like Satriani,Vai,Jason Becker and Malmsteen.

I think if you've already got a good ability to play the bands' songs you've listed then you should learn or furthermore listen to Dream Theater, they are truly awe inspiring.

I can play some LZ like stairway to heaven, black dog, and heartbreaker, etc. It's just that I can't play the solos that fast yet. Thanks for all your help, if you have any more suggestions, then please tell me.

If you can't play very fast, try songs with easier solos like LZ "Living Loving Maid" and others, after you learn them play them a fatser than they are.

This way you'll find yourself gaining confidence & speed enough to play faster solos.

Learn Bonhemian Rhapsody by Queen. Also rearange all those piano stuff to guitar ´cause it sound pretty cool. Solo is pretty easy just one semi fast run but it´s all a variation of penta scales. Than the great riff at the end of the song wich is one of the best I ever heard. It ROCKS. Simply cool stuff from begginig to end.

Set difficult, but attainable goals for yourself, like, "I cant play that fast, but I wanna play Hot for Teacher in two monthes." or something. Then when you get there, not only will it have been a big confidence builder, but also a skill builder, and you can move on to harder songs and get even better.

Doesn't that song involve finger tapping? I'm not really that great at it yet, but practice makes perfect right?

I hope you're learning the whys and wherefores of the songs you're playing, and not just songs.Coz you can learn a bunch of songs, but can't do anything outside of the specific songs you've learnt.

The tapping itself isn't the hard part, its the stretching. This is part of the intro, observe;

-----------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------
----0-3-7-12-7-3-0-3-7-12-7-3-0-3-7-12-7-3-0-3-7-12-7-3----
-----------------------------------------------------------

This isn't actually that hard to play, the only place your tapping is on the twelvth fret, other than that its all hammer ons and pull offs, but it'd be difficult enough for someone who doesn't already know how to play it. Its a difficult, but attainable goal. Anyway, it was just an example. You could pick a song without tapping, set the goal for yourself, not to impress anyone else.

PS- Anyone know how to not make the tab all messed up like that?

Allright. I get what your saying, if I don't understand the song than I won't be able to do anything else, right? Like if I don't know why you do this the way you do than I won't really learn anything will I?

Don't worry about it. Any one who wants to use it can copy'n'paste it into a Notepad text file, and it comes out right. If you tweak it to look right in your post, it becomes unusable in a text file.

Yeah, I didn't say anything about like not learning anything while learning songs so I was like "Buh? Oh, talking to kingdavid. Cool."

About 2 and a half years now. I actually started quite young, and then quit, I guess I didn't think I was getting anywhere. When I was 13 I picked up the instrument again and now I'm in two different bands. (Which affords me a lot of extra practise)

That's cool. I've been playing for 2 years now. I've been in a few bands but they never wanted to practice. Not trying to make myself sound awesome coz I'm not, but I didn't think I should waste my talent on them, they never took it serious like me.
