Stairway to Heaven---Led Zeppelin

Rising Force---Yngwie Malmsteen

Far Beyond the Sun---Yngwie Malmsteen

Flight of the Bumblebee---John Petrucci

Any Solo By Randy Rhoads
To improve technique and of course trying to keep all as clean as possible. I know my own limits and speed limits and so on I never play anything I'm not capable of. That wouldn't make any sense. After three years of playing I tried to play everything as fast as possible and that sounded, I would say, like shit, and I didn't realize that if I'd play bit slower things than I was capable of playing then everything would sound much better.

I don't think Clapton did any soloing on Layla, I think that was all Duane Allman.

Hey Inc.- what about the recorded version of Casey Jones, great solo, simple yet effective and a great example of some classic string bending and chromaticism.

1.) Stairway . . (I actually like the one on TSRTS video)

2.) Comfortably Numb

3.) Search and Destroy - Iggy and the Stooges

4.) Child In Time - Deep Purple

5.) Live Version of Johny B Goode - Hendrix or Chuck Berry's original .

Very honourable mentions to Sweet Child o'Mine,
While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Hotel California and Free Bird.

But, ask me on another day and they may be in a different order - depending on what and how much i have consumed.
Accuracy,you say? hmm interesting concept..

Duane Allman and Clapton both play on the Layla track, Clapton said the song was still in a very basic form when they started the recording session, that Duane added a bunch of riffs to the song and really brought it to life, the keyboard player came up with the long outro piece and Allman and Clapton both are playing slide over that, Clapton is in background if you listen to it closely, Layla was a great album, I think because it was a great collaboration of great players. Guitar Player magazine did some good fearture articles on Allman and Clapton where they both gave the layout of what went on during the Layla session, alot of stuff never made it on the album, if you ever see an old record called Duane Allman Anthology, there's a great version of "Mean Old World" by DA&EC on Dobro's

it's not possible! there are SO many, in SO many different styles, but here are some sweet ones that i haven't seen listed (just to be different):

Jason Becker - Perpetual Burn

Steve Vai - Answers (G3 version with crazyass tapping solo at the end)

Jimmy Page - Bron-Yr-Aur and Fool In The Rain are sweet

Kenny Wayne Shepherd - Blue On Black

Trey Anastasio - Landlady (the interlude part of "Punch You In The Eye", Phish rarely plays this alone anymore, but listen to PYITE, it's a pretty sweetsounding guitar piece)

Brian May - Bohemian Rhapsody, Killer Queen, Hammer to Fall... all his solos rock

Richie Sambora (Bon Jovi) - "Bed of Roses" = short but sweet solo, great fretwork throughout the song...
there are SOOO many other cool ones but this is more than enough for one post. PEACE

I doubt it, but I was successfully able to find a bootleg of the show on the net actually, the one they played in Boston... i don't know where it is anymore, but i downloaded all the mp3s, and i have a cable modem, so just E-mail me at AquariusWB@aol.com if you wanna ask questions about it, i can sent you some (or all) of the mp3s if you want, it wouldn't take long, i'm always willing to help out a fellow guitar freak.... It's not the greatest quality in the world, but it's better than nothing. The Petrucci set is the highest quality, but there is something wrong with some of the Vai songs, and you hear this annoying clicking, almost makes me not wanna listen, but the petrucci set came out great, and that's what is important b/c i think 4 of the 5 tracks are songs he made just for the tour, and dont' appear on any records... the satriani came out decent, not as good as the petrucci, and the jam came out about the same level as the satriani ones.... anyone who wants some info about this, email me at AquariusWB@aol.com, i'm more than glad to send the mp3s. PEACE
