I'll kick this off by listing my top five gigs:-

The Rolling Stones - Roundhay Park, Leeds - 1981

The Who - Sheffield Arena - 2000

Bob Dylan - Sheffield Arena - 2000

BB King - Sheffield Arena - 1999

The Jam - The Reading Rock Festival - c.1977

It takes 3 chords, 2 fingers and one asshole to play rock'n'roll

Pat Metheny 2000

I saw him here in Brussels and he was realy great!
Very experimental too!
I dont know much jazz musicians with the combination of clasical and experimental.
In fact: Metheny is the only jazz musician i know. :o

My best concert-moments:

(no particular order)
D-A-D (Copenhagen DK '98)
Slash's Snakepit (Aarhus DK 2000)
Rage against... (Roskilde DK '96)
Megadeath (Midtfyn DK '97)

...and then various performances by Sting, Dizzy Mizz Lizzy, Pulp, Björch, Sepultura, No doubt a.m.

So I've only seen concert inside Denmark and that's a pretty small country, but all the big ones come anyway, because we danes just dig ****in' good music and live performance!!

Christoph;

Phil Keaggy only plays Christian music with heavy emphasis on the Spiritual realm. He's quite extra-ordinary and must have God on his side when he plays (obviously). I honestly believe he can have concerts which transcend the physical realm.

I coined a term for Phil many years ago namely "Keaggyisms". What are they? They are specific modes he tends to gravitate towards. I pretty much can identify him by just listening due to those "Keaggyisms".

I remember many special moments both live and at home listening to him and thinking wow, I've never heard anything like this before. And when the Spiritual side kicks in - watch out. It's sometimes too much.

I think his best album was "Emerging" back in the late 70's early 80's time frame.

His acoutic work for me is better when seen live, than is his live electric work.

Hey, thanks for asking.
Have a good day!

I had a great time at a Linkin Park concert, but there was also another new band I was impressed with. I went to an XFL game (no laughing, i got tickets for free) and at the taligate party, there was a band called Swinging Lovehammers. They're a Chicago band, but if you can check them out (www.swinginglovehammers.com)

1. Steve Vai, Rockefeller Oslo 2000

This was a magical night, almost religious.
I feel lucky to have been there

2. Halford, Rockefeller Oslo 2000

What can I say...? The Metal God.

3. Tribal Tech, Trondheim 1998(?)

Fantastic musicians. Unbelievable perfection. Scott Henderson is the man.

I never had the chance to Led Zeppelin live (as a whole), but I'm sure it would have been an amazing experience. Its just not the same on video, if only I could go back in time, just to be in the same arena with four of the greatest musicians in rock history, I would die with a smile on my face. But fortunately, March 7th, 1995, I saw Jimmy Page and Robert Plant at the Orlando Arena. Wow, what an amazing show, and to be honest it was almost like I was at a real Zeppelin show, except with the conspicuous absense of Jon Bonham, but Michael Lee did a great job. I happened to be in the right place at the right time, and a concert like that lasts a lifetime in your memory, they played all of my favorites: Black Dog, Kashmir...
