I want to ask a question. How can you improve your way to improvise solos?
A mine's are kind of boring after a couple of measures. I use trio's (i don't know if this word is correct 3 notes in one quarter of a time).
If I listen to more music, can I improve my solos?

Really the best thing you can do is learn scales that partain to the type of music you aspire to create and go from there. If need be...go back and review some basic music theory, having a solid foundation is eccential. And remeber it doesnt come over night. If it did we would all be famous ;)

study blues solos. playing the blues is a very easy way to get good at soloing. you play what sounds right. and its easiest to learn to solo and improvise not playing by yourself, but with others. get a jam band together and just have fun. its the easiest way to get good at impov.

and a little trick- if you mess up, repeat the mess up at least once so that it doesnt seem like you messed up ;) allways works.

Practice. That's pretty much it. Don't just practice alone though - try to get jam sessions with other musicians (guitarists, pianists, etc...). As far as note choice, if you're stuck on just the blues scale, for example, and you can play the blues scale all across the neck (from the 1st fret to the 24th, or 22nd), then try learning how to incorporate the major scale so that you can transition between the blues scale and the major scale seemlessly. Try doing the same with the natural minor, harmonic minor, etc... scales.
Hope that helps.
