Think real hard. Out of all the artists that have passed away over the years. Which one do you wish you could have seen in concert, for the first time or one more time before they left this earth. I would have to say that it would have been awesome to go to a Nirvana concert but I wasn't very old at the time Kurt Cobain took his life. It also would be cool to see a Doors concert because Jim Morrison was just an amazing vocalist and Robby Krieger (who is still with us, thank god) really knew how to play the guitar and he still has it today.

*It would DEFINATLY have to be Frank Zappa.....I saw him once over in Germany (He played in a castle courtyard)...Nothing short of amazing.....So many styles, so much talent....A TRUE master of Composing, Orchestrating, and (of course) playing that wonderful guitar...
*Turn the bastard up and see what happenz.... :D

Jimi Hendrix

He was before my time, but his music still continues to be an inspiration for me, including me. He was an amazing guitarist and visionary. I've a couple of tapes of him in concert and he was Amazing. Even though he died a while before I was even born, It's still sad.

Stevie Ray Vaughan

He was also an amazing guitarist. He played with such intensity and emotion. They just don't come like him anymore. I wish there was more like him.

I would choose bon scott, the former ac/dc frontman that passed away in 1979...
he's not a guitarist but a great vocalist, and i really really would like to see him with ac/dc live..

Mark Sandman-
I bought my first Morphine CD the day that he died (found a week later, and let me tell you that weirded me out). Anyway, Morphine had this amazing combonation of great lyrics, great (though simplistic) song writing, and solid musicianship that I really wish I could have seen in concert. Something that original doesn't come around all that often.

I have to agree 100% with Fender Man. I would have loved to see either Jimi or SRV in concert.

Jimi Hendrix
SRV
Muddy Waters
Paul Kossoff
Freddie King
and unless I see him some time soon John Lee Hooker, as I live in the UK there's not much chance of that. I saw the stones once Keef, looked dead.

Jimmy Hendrix, what an amazing musician, if only he was still alive, I'm sure we all thought about this. And then there was SRV, this guy was amazing, he played with so much passion, I still can't believe hes gone, and that I never saw his band live...Hendrix and SRV have been huge influences on my life, you have idea how many times Ive envisioned going to one of their concerts. Believe it or not, I once had the opportunity to go see Nirvana a long time ago, but because of personal problems I passed up the opportunity, thinking that there would be several other shows along the way. But you have no idea how completely numb my body wen't once I found out the news of Kurt Cobain's passing, it was like a hard punch to my stomach. There aren't many musicians quite like him who put their heart and soul into their songs, this man expressed his personally through his songs in just about every possible way. I'm still kicking myself till this very day for passing up a Nirvana concert, its just not the same on video...

duane allman......

i have been listening to alot of the allman bros lately, and unfortunately few bands have what they had (and i guess still do with government mule). all of their recordings, especially live ones seem so happy....and duane's solo's(slide inpeticular, cause i have just started to try and pick that up) seem to portrait a happy picture, one that i would kill to see painted live today!!!!!

John Lennon - What needs to be said except why has noone else mentione him

Jim Morrison - I dont need to develop on what everyone else said

Jimi Hendrix - Seen him play on TV. Wish id been around at woodstock to see him live.

Phil Lynott - A true poet.

Ronny van Zant - Skynyrd although very unknown were the a great band.

Rory Gallagher - One of my favourite guitarists. Underrated.

Also keith moon, SRV, duane Allman, Bonzo etc.

I would have *loved* to see Bon perform. I have every single AC/DC album ever made plus the video Let There Be Rock of a 1980 Paris concert (Bon died in 1980 by the way) That video is absolutely awesome.

I would also liked to have seen Jimi Hendrix because his concerts must have been insane.

And Nirvana because they just rock and I always loved Cobain.

My choice is the legendary Django Reinhardt, no big amplifiers, no effects, no soundman(woman) just a whole lot of talent.

I would have to say in first place is Jimi. He's the second best guitarist ever (right behind Kirk Hammett). Second would be Randy Rhodes. Damn he's good. Should have stayed out of the plane. Third: Cliff Burton (with Metallica of course). Definitely a bad idea to sleep in Kirk's bunk. But if he didn't, then Kirk probably wouldn't be with us today. In fourth place: Bon Scott. Should of quit drinkin'. Fifth: Kurt Cobain. I still think Courtney did it.

Thank God Kirk Hammett is still with us, because he is a god and gods can't die. Duh!
