I’m using a Stratocaster guitar for this song, but any electric guitar is suitable. I’ve selected the bridge pickup for a clear, bright tone.
A Fender tube amp is the best choice to replicate the electric tone in this tune. Dial in a clean - right on the edge of breakup - sound - for example, set the Preamp Gain to 45%, Bass to 50%, Mids to 55%, Treble to 60%, and Presence to 65%.
For Guitar 2, kick in a fuzz pedal before the amp for a more overdriven sound when playing the Mellotron lines near the end of the song. Add reverb to all guitars for depth.
Since we’re in standard tuning, I’m using regular light gauge strings that are 10-46 along with a heavy pick.
