Description

I’m using a Stratocaster for this song, but any electric guitar is suitable. I’ve selected the bridge pickup for all guitar parts for a bright, clear tone. Tune down 1 full step for this song.

A Fender tube amp is the best choice to replicate the electric tone in this tune. Dial in a clean - right on the edge of breakup - sound - for example, set the Preamp Gain to 45%, Bass to 50%, Mids to 55%, Treble to 60%, and Presence to 65%. For Guitars 2 and 3 you’ll want to kick in an overdrive pedal to get a crunch tone. If you have a channel switching amp, you could forgo the pedal and set up each channel for clean and crunch.

Guitars 1 and 3 use a distinct chorus effect to add some mood to the arrangement.

Add reverb to all guitars for depth.

I’m using regular light gage strings that are 10-46 along with a heavy pick. If you have a guitar you’d like to keep in this tuning, consider setting it up with heavier gauge strings.
