In this tutorial you'll learn how to play the classic song "Crazy" as made famous by Patsy Cline. This recording is a great example of that wonderful mixture of the down home country vibe and the jazzier harmony and more elaborate production that was popular in Nashville at that time. But in it's essence, this song is all about the vocals and the heart breaking message the lyrics are conveying. So everything the guitar is playing is working to support that.

The part is built around some very simple chord stabs on the "back beats", and there would be nothing wrong with simply sticking to that basic part through the whole song. That being said there are some really nice little fills in the intro/outro as well as a bluesier fill at the end of the B-section.

For the last verse the key of the song modulates up a half step, which gives a nice lift to the whole thing, but other than that, this song is all about becoming one with the message of the song and focusing everything you do to support that. We'll analyze and breakdown the basic harmony, talk about how to get your tones just right for this song, and as and added bonus I'll even show you how to play the piano intro and outro on guitar. The song is in the key of Bb with a classic 12/8 groove and the quarter note equals 71 BPM. Let's get right to it!
