Hi I'm new to all this shred malarky but I'd love to master it has anyone got any tips.I can bounce off the top two strings at a faairly blstering pace but that's about it.

I might be able to help, that depends on what you want to do: conventional shred or the, uh, unconventional (extreme) shred.

Well, shredding is basically playing fast isn't it?
At least that's how I see it.

So, only one thing to do is, start slow, and the speed will come naturally. Learn the basic techniques till you can do em slow and perfectly.
Rushing into playing stuff fast will eventually cost you alot of cleaning up in your technique later on.(talking from experience here, hehe)
