Power Attenuators
Will any type of power attenuator work for my guitar? Or do I need to get something like the Hot Plate that is specificly for that?

I think power attenuators are for amps ... They're used to lower the volume, allowing you to crank the amp and get your desired tone without disturbing the neighbours.

Thanks SLY, I think you've replied to all my posts about power attenuators.

Yeah.. I used to use one on my old Marshal amp.
Pretty cool thing to have. If I recall correctly, you connect it between the amp & speakers and then just turn it down to the lower settings.
You retain all the sound and characturistics of the full blown amp but the volume is lowered.

I am going to build 3 different ones. Nothing fancy, a 6,9, and 12 dB. Then I'll just put in which ever one I want. I don't feel like spending $500 on a HOT PLATE, or $600 on the Marshall Power Brake.

Cool , did you get the schematics or layouts ?
I think they should be simple circuits , I don't understand why are they the same price of a regular combo amp !
