I've been playing alot of euro-death metal lately and i came across arch enemy. I was wondering if you guys knew anything about getting a regular guitar to sound like a baritone (lets say a ibanez RG550 - 24fret)- or should i just but a baritone(which one ibanez or esp??)

Thanx in advance ...

I dunno about what model of guitar or any of that, but when I want to get the guitar to sound heavy without tuning down, I play power chords with the 5th on the bottom, like this;

E---------
B---------
G-4-------
D-4-------
A-2-------
E-2-------

This, along with the bass, really adds to overall heavyness. Ofcourse, you can't truely do a downtuned song justice just with this, so you'll probably still want that baritone guitar. As far as sound goes, I like Ibanez, but you should try out some guitars and decide for yourself.
And God said, 'Let there be rock!'

Most(if not all) bands that play that kind of music, including Arch Enemy, don't even use baritone guitars; they simply tune down...
