They sterilize needles for lethal injections because they don't want you to go to hell AND have a cold.

I actually found out at a hospital, during work experience, that they rub alcohol onto the arm, not just to sterilize, but because the vein widens and comes closer to the surface. It's then easier to inject.

I guess I should change my signature to another unanswered question.
