I'm in the market for a smaller lower wattage 1x12" speaker tube amp. I have 6 amps that I'm looking at that are roughly in my price range. I'm just wandering if ya'll have any experience with any of these amps and if you have any other suggestions......The amps I am looking at are:

Peavey Classic 30
Traynor YCV20
Ampeg J12T
Epiphone Galaxie 25
Fender Blues Jr.
Fender Hot Rod Delux

I have no experience on any of these amps except the hot rod where I was testing a chorus pedal out so I basically have no experience with it. I appreciate any and all of your opinions.

I have the Hot Rod and love it. Its perfect for me, dunno bout you. Lots of reverb, if you want it. The regular driver channel is ok, but if you slap on the mroe drive then it starts to sound nice and crunchy. Works great with a Telecaster.

that's kindof what I've decided on in my head, but i'm going to to to the music store and play on the hot rod and the classic 30 to see which one I like better. Can the Hot Rod's OD channel pull of stuff like ZZ Topps, and G'N'R type stuff, or should I look into getting a Pro Co Rat or pedal of the like?

Depends on the kinda music you are into. I owned a classic 30 and loved the pure tube overdrive it produces. Only problem I had from the amp is the amount of tubes it went through, I always had to carry spares on gigs with me. But then again we were on 4 night a week gigs with the amp scraming 5 hrs a night!

ZZ Tops yes for sure, not sure about GNR. I suppose if you slap more drive on, and crank it to 12. Then you can get the "welcome to the jungle" type drive.

I really like Fender Amps...one of my friends has a Deville 4x10 ( obviously bigger than what you need )
I have a Laney Vc 50 (2x12) which is great...maybe look out for a smaller Laney...I think they make a vc 30.
The Peavey classic 30 is also awesome...in fact, almost any tube amp is great...I havent yet found a bad sounding tube amp.
