Are they a single humbucker like hot rails? How are they different?

I played a Fender Strat with them installed. I didn't like them, they seemed very dull, not too bright. But that's just me.

If your considering getting aftermarket pickups for a strat or otherwise, check Seymour Duncan, most of their pickups are bright and punchy.

Yeah, like it says in my profile I have a strat with some kind of Seymour Duncan humbucker in the bridge position...I dont really knopw what model since it was there when I got it. I was just wondering about these for the heck of it cause Ive heard about them but wasnt sure what they were like.

The open coil pups are much better and brighter. I would tyr to never get lace sensors or pups with the chrome covers on them.

By no covers do you mean if you had a tele with the covers on youd take em off? Are they on there for a tonal difference of mostly cosmetic one?

I tried to take the cover off of my neck pickup, but I couldn't. So when I bought my humbucker I made sure it was an open coil.

Open coil is like what you would see on the average strat, or bridge pickup on a Tele.

Yes, I find there to be a tonal difference. Like the lace sensors, the covers take away from the tone which make the pickup not as bright.
