PRS over Epi anything, if you don't watch the price.

I would go with the PRS (obviously). But, I would have to find some way to get Tremonti's name off the axe. Nothing against Tremonti, I just don't want someone elses name on my ax

Depends on the name. I would love having something with Petrucci or Gilbert on it, if it was legit.

Ibanez has over the years both made a Paul Gilbert and John Petrucci model guitar. Carvin currently makes John Pectrucci's now though.

Try them both out you gotta play em not us.I've played the Santana SE and it was nice(guy had duncans in it)and I've played Epi pauls and liked them too.
PS I think the Tremonti has a non intonation adjustable bridge.

If you can hold your horses, PRS’ SE Single cut will have the p-90 equipped version in the stores come 2004. This one doesn’t have any endorser’s name on the headstock. If you dislike the pickups, dimarzio has the DLX series P-90 sized humbuckers as after market replacements.

The PRS stop tail design was made with pre-intonated indentations so intonation for a set of .009s is spot-on. If you wish to upgrade your gauge, PRS has an adjustable string saddle version of that stop tail.

Go to edromanguitars.com...You should be able to find more than a few guitars that are much better than PRS's(let alone an epiphone).Really,for the money,PRS guitars are VERY overpriced.There dragon pickups arnt all THAT great either.

I've been through that site before. I'm definitely impressed with some of those abstract guitars.

Hey Chuck, that's because you are shopping on Ed "Let's-blow-the-price-way-out-of-proportion" Roman's site. Not to mention he will flat out lie to you in order to make a sale.... I called him on a Sambora doubleneck that he had on the site. He told me that it was made in the USA, there were only 6 in existance and that he wanted 8k for it. Me... being as informed as I am about these things, automatically had the bull**** radar go off... First off it was a Japanese model with an imitation Floyd Rose, and there were a few THOUSAND made... they go for 1.5k all day long on ebay... Not to mention he tried to pawn off a Musicyo Kramer for $400 (it lists on Musicyo for $199) by saying it was the last custom shop guitar to come out the the New Jersey Plant... I would be wary of buying anything from him.. He could have one of his guys make a copy of a PRS and pawn it off as the real thing.. That man has no scruples.....

Go with the PRS Tremonti. I've played one and they're amazing.

Ive know 2 people that got great service from him and refered me to him...oh well...
I still think PRS guitars are way overpriced for production guitars.You could get a custom moser or something.I believe the tremonti model is well under a grand...if you like tremonti and dont mind his name somwhere on your axe,then go for it...you could do a ton better though.

Yeah...I`d go for the Tremonti se. I have also played one of these, and they truly are killer.
I am not too keen on any signature guitars though, I think I guitar should suit you and not your idols ( but if it does both, then, GREAT) I am pretty sure you will be able to find some other nice guiatrs though, I think there are some guitars in that price range that are much nicer than Prs se`s and Epi`s, maybe look at high-end Corts or summin like that, but, If you are hell-bent on an Epiphone or Prs, take the Tremonti man.

I've got 2 Epi Les Pauls and are great to play and very gig worthy. Only things I would change would be the pick-ups to EMGs or Duncans and the tuners to metal 1s.
Anything with Tremontis name on it should be burned.

OOOOO, im really looking foward to seeing the PRS single cut se out! How come i can never find the prices of PRS's unless i email sites....are they that terrifying?

PRS doesn't like people posting prices unless it is actual list price.

in all honesty, compairing a PRS (anything) to an epi (anything) isn't a good compairason. 1. the tone that they each produce is going to be completely different, and 2. the feel of the ax is going to be completely different. When it comes to compairing the Gibson sound to the PRS sound, I love both. They both make amazing guitars. true enough, they are both way overpriced on most models, but when it comes to finding the ax that feels and sounds like it was made for you, I don't mind paying a bit extra. And Chuck.....I'm not going to down you for saying the Dragon pup's are no good, because they defanately have a unique sound and aren't for everybody. My PRS has Dragon II's in it, and I love them. They are so versatile. I can get an extremely heavey rip your head off sound to a real fat blues sound to a warm and smooth jazz type sound. But like I said, they're not for everybody. PRS just happens to be my cup of tea.

I have a, Eppiphone Les Paul and i think it plays well, but from what i hear PRS is a good guitar, Carlos Santana uses a PRS.
