man...for 700 bucks, find yourself a nice used Marshall Tube combo...JCM 900 or something, they have balls and drive...not the highest gain but have plenty of backbone...if you're looking for high gain, just buy a decent OD pedal and mix it with the marshall crunch, it'll sound way better than solid state, especially if you're planning on cranking most the time. You'll be much happier with it in the long run in my opinion. Check 'em out, worth the time, see how you like them.
