Man, I realy like those smilies! :p
need help here!
I play the guitar for two and a half months. And my goal is to play styles like: Rock 'n roll, surf, Roots rock, and maybe a little funk too... So I would like to know some techniques I realy have to know for that. I have no idea where to start. Now I'm just jamming (looking for different rittms, hammer on and of) and practice my clean sound at the same time. I have a book for solo guitar too ( a very difficult one ). I also want to know some chords to begin with. And some different power chords... I know I ask alot at the same time but any advice is very welcome. Sorry for my English,

I've been playin for about a year now and Ill tell you what I did. For the first 4 months I played NOTHING but my acustic guitar. toughens those fingers up and teaches you the basics. Then My dad bought me an electric guitar and amp and I bought a distortion box. THats the style i wanted to play so why not start early? Since then i have played GOOD metal, like metallica, slayer, etc and that has helped me alot. Now i can play solos and what not. LATER
