As for m'self I spent 2 years travelling the globe without listening to any music (not counting stuff being played in shops, bars etc). Before I set off, I thought I'd really miss it, but never did.
Taliban!
How important is all this music malarkey to you? If your house was on fire would you bother trying to save your record/CD collection and /or guitars? Do you have to take a ghettoblaster on holiday with you? Are you unable to go jogging around Central/Hyde/whatever park without being plugged in to your walkman? Could you survive in a Taliban-type culture?

Music's too important to me. It'd be like giving up breathing or eating. I don't even think I could stop thinking about music if I tried. I've constantly got music running through my head and ideas for songs or tapping my feet and hands.
Guess, as long as I've got a working brain I'll never be without music. If I can't find something to make an instrument out of or at least something I can drum on, I can just close my eyes and listen to all the old songs stuck in my brain.

I'd love going on a 2 year trip with a guitar and a DAT, and record myself jamming with guys from all over the world... That'd be VERY cool...

Originally posted by FruitbatI've always got a tune running through my head. If I don't like the background music being played in the room I'm in, I can usually blot it out with my own. I think that has a lot to do with the fact that I sometimes don't pick up a guitar for a few weeks. I can always hear my music,, so I don't always have to make any. (If the music ever changes into 'voices' I may have a problem!) :)

I think everyone has tunes that run through there mind no matter what music they listen to.You dont have to play an instrument to get "meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow" stuck in there head.Every time I step in the shower I think "your not fully clean until your zest fully clean".You cant stop em'!
AAHHHHH!!!

I would probably burn to death before I got all my guitars out LOL
So. If you throw a cat out of a car window, is it considered "kitty litter"?

I'd save the Gibson, leave the Peavey. Save the Marshall, leave the Peavey. Save the Washburn, leave the Kent. Save my stereo system and CDs, leave the...oh, I'm probably dead by now anyhow.

I'd grab my laptop first...too much stuff I cant replace on it. Guitars, I'd grab my black Fender Strat, it has the most sentimental value.

If I had to live in a place where I couldn't have a guitar or listen to music I'd just make my own. There's always gonna be wood somewhere that I can make a guitar out of. And for strings...hell, didn't they use to make em outa cat gut before they had plastic or steel? There's plenty of cats around. :)
