Well, my girlfriend tryed to buy a computer off of ebay. $2000 later she broke and no computer. The person was a fraud who was using someone else's account with a good record. Ebay WILL NOT REFUND her the money and shes out two grand in hard earned cash.

NEVER USE EBAY! if i can take the time to warn u guys this, u can take the time to think twice before u use it. Spread the word around! Learn from others, dont use ebay!
WWSD? What would stevie do?

I won't. Now give your girlfriend $2,000.

no offence, but it was pretty dumb to buy a computer off ebay. you can get a decent dell for half the price and a warranty to go with it. i have never had problems with ebay, but i will be a little bit more careful.
To improve technique and of course trying to keep all as clean as possible. I know my own limits and speed limits and so on I never play anything I'm not capable of. That wouldn't make any sense. After three years of playing I tried to play everything as fast as possible and that sounded, I would say, like shit, and I didn't realize that if I'd play bit slower things than I was capable of playing then everything would sound much better.

Seriously, man, do something about this for your girlfriend, maybe not giving her $2,000 (I would imagine that you wouldn't want to do that), but take her out to dinner or something to take her mind off it. Who knows, maybe you'll get something out of it ;-) .

Sorry to hear you got ripped off !

For the record, I have bought and sold loads a stuff on eBay, no problems ! It is much cheaper than my local music store, I get a much better return on my kit and despite the odd idiot it has bean a relatively stress free experience!

Ouch! That kind of thing really hurts!

I've had more trouble with shipping than I've had with exchanging payment. I've only had one deal go sour, and that was a case of USPS losing an item shipped by a reputable business. I've done deals with the same seller since then, without problems. In about 65 transactions, I've sold a bunch of stuff on eBay, and bought a lot stuff, including a car!

If in doubt, use the escrow feature. Basically, you send your payment to eBay, who holds it until you get the item, and tell eBay you're satisfied with it. Then eBay forwards your payment to the seller. There's a service charge, but it's probably worthwhile in terms of securing your transaction.

When I sold my stuff, I posted that the escrow option was available. No-one asked for it. For that matter, I've never used it either, even when I bought a car in Hamilton Ontario, and had it shipped to Calgary, Alberta! Most eBayers are honest people, just like most people anywhere.

Definitely don't use Ebay... It's evil and addictive... Just ask my wife who has to walk around 26 guitars :) and still growing...
So. If you throw a cat out of a car window, is it considered "kitty litter"?

I have a T--shirt with the prominent declaration "The one with the most guitars wins." :D

But I sold one of my 12-strings, and I've got a couple more electric/acoustics that are going on the block soon. That'll bring the stable down to four electrics and a bass. A comfortable number for me. :)

You could say I'm a loyal person; I have one acoustic/electric guitar, and two electrics; one of the electrics is my 'first guitar', which I mounted on my wall; The other, is my Gibson Les Paul.

Now, I'm the kind of person that thinks it's important for a musician to use one guitar while onstage, and not to switch guitars every song; Not sure why i feel that way, I just do.
When I get my custom guitar, I will probably sell off my Les Paul DC +; Alot of musicians play one axe on stage because that's all they can afford; I play one axe on stage because I feel that the guitar is an extension of the guitarist's character.

No-one says you've gotta bring all of your axes to a gig!

Guitars are the tools of the trade - you select one that's appropriate to the task at hand.

i think it would be better to have two guitars at gigs, no one wants to hear you tune your guitar to drop D or tuning your guitar back to E, unless you play for some Russian band, where one of their song includes the guitarist tuning his guitar at the beginning of the song, so the guy has to detune his guitar before he plays the song. anyway... thats not the point, the point is that i think it would be better to have two guitars at a gig.
