hey, first off, i'm new here. . .

anyway, justcurious as to what most of you guys focus on. . . Lead or Rythm? I've been playing rythm for about 4 years with the last year focusing on some lead stuff. I do alright, but i don't practice enough. So i kind of mix it up. Makes for a pretty fun evening when we perform though, you know, when you can rock out with rythm as much as you want and then throw in some lead whenever you feel like it. . .

anyway, what about you guys?

I started off playing rythm, and i still like to play it more than lead, but i play some lead as well, when you play both it helps overall.

I focus on doing what a song needs, I practice both lead and rythm (on bass as well as guitar). My theory is that the more you can do, the better off you are and that versitility is key to being a good musician. Also, some of the stuff you do by learning to play leads can be used to make rythm parts more interesting.
