Well I've had a guitar with floyd rose for ages but since I don't know any tricks it's crying for some attention. I've done searches here and looking around other sites with no luck :(

Got any tricks or sites you can recommend, please do tell!

Thanks,

Here's one...
Grab the bar, and lift the guitar about eye level with it...
Then shake it...
:)
Just kidding.... I've ripped a Floyd out of a guitar like that before...
So. If you throw a cat out of a car window, is it considered "kitty litter"?

Heres a cool one i wish i had the money to do, get your guitar, grab the neck, hold the body with your palm, and throw it out a window a few storys up. once it makes contact with the pavment, it should cause alot of Vibrato. now quickly get in your car, go to the guitar store and buy your self one without a Floyd rose.

(just kidding, but my they can be a pain in the butt sometimes.)

The "fluttering" is real ... Turn the bar 180 degree than you'd normaly use it , pick a note (or make it sound by a legato) then hit it hard and quick... Check Dream Theater "Under a glass moon" solo , near the end of it.

At the same position (180 degree) , hold the bar and shake it rapidly while playing legato stuff ... This gives and indian sitar-like sound... Check Steve Vai for that one.

Dive the bar , and tap a harmonic by your fretting hand's middle finger , then pull the bar , shake it or whatever ... It will always sound cool , check Pantera's Dimebag for this one.

A variation of the above one is to use it with Pinch harmonics instead of tapping or natural harmonics , like Satch.

I remember I've read an article on wierd noises by Steve Vai , I think there's a copy of it on his site ... Check it out , it's usefull.

Here's a real easy bar trick:

With your fretting hand (Usually your left hand if your right handed), sound the open G string with your finger (fretting hand), Do a bar dive (Push your tremelo bar down at the same time you sound the open G String with your finger) then put your fretting hand over the 5th string harmonic area then bring your bar back up....makes a nice "Scream"....You can further make it cooler by shaking the living crap out of your bar after you bring it back up.

Another easy one is freting the 2nd fret of your open b string harmonic and your open E string 5th harmonic as a chord:

|-5-------------|
|-2-------------|

Then doing a bar dive.
Making the first harmonic on your B string (Second fret) takes a lot of practice and an extremely light touch.
I started learning guitar because of Randy Rhoads..but Yngwie J. Malmsteen is my biggest influence.
