I am new to the guitar and am trying to learn a song, All We Sinners. The Intro reads like this:
|A/|D/A/|A/|D/A/|
I get the chords and I assume the | means measures but "/"'s I don't get. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So, an A major chord for the entire first measure.
Then a D major chord for the first part of the second measure followed by an A major chord for the second part of the major chord.
Unfortunately, that doesn't specify how many beats, or how much of the measure. You'll need the sheet music or to listen to the song for that info.
Another possible use for the slash symbol is to indicate a slash chord. The first letter is the name of the chord, the second letter after the slash indicates the bass or lowest note used with the chord.
Hope this helps!
