so I’ve recently completed the blues and rock course and want to move on to Jazz style, but where would I begin? It isn’t formatted as clearly as the others, where they go topic by topic from basic building to more advance techniques; the lessons are kind of all over the place and categorised by teacher rather than difficulty level. Same for the other styles. Help?

There is much more demand for Blues, Country & Rock styles. So, that's why GT focuses on those. Jazz is more specialized & has a more advanced knowledge & skill set.

This thread has a path you can take for jazz. There might be some overlap with other topics because it is kind of an ad hoc collection.

I am currently in the process of working on adding more jazz material! I have another Blues Jazz tutorial, several basics of chord melody tutorials & an updated St. Louis Blues all in the works.

Depending on your skill level you might to work through the blues course because it will give you some of the basics in the style. If you can handle it, then you might want to just jump into the Intro To Jazz tutorials! But you might quickly find that you need to take time to work on extended harmony chords or some other topic as a pre-requisite before you are ready for that material.

Also, have a look at my instructor directory & scroll down to Jazz Guitar.

That will give you plenty to start working on! Please ask more when & if necessary & best of success with it!

Thanks a bunch? So you reccomend following the path of the link you followed first, then the "intro to...". If I've completed Blues 1 and 2, where would I go from there to extend my blues playing? There is a "Styles of Blues", so do I just start from the top?

You can, but that's kind of an an hoc list of tutorials. My first suggestion is start learning & playing songs. Right now. Start building your repertoire of songs & blues licks.

Also on my instructor directory is a great series of tutorials on building blues licks. I start simple to help dovetail from Blues 1 & 2, then dive deep into the style by showing how to build licks as well as whole arrangements. They are mostly in systematic order.

Scroll down until get to the sections Learning Blues Licks & right below it Major Notes In Minor Pentatonic. Those will help you build your knowledge & skills after Blues 1 & 2. And more importantly, prepare you to learn more blues songs & licks!

Hope that helps!
