Primarily because the theory is integrated with the course material. Much of the music theory that is taught on the site is in the context of a course or tutorial because it is directly applicable to the material. It's important to keep your theory learning & your technique learning at roughly the same level. With that in mind, the GT courses contain the theory you need to know, when you need to know it.

So if you are a beginner, you start with the fundamentals courses & along the way you learn about intervals, scales, chords, chord progressions & reading music. All theory topics appplied to the material you are learning at that stage.

When you progress to one of the style courses you'll learn how to apply those theory concepts to the specifics of that style.

And I also have this collection of tutorials that focuses exclusively on music theory if you want to go deeper down that rabbit hole!

Hope this helps!
