my question is you would put your index finger on the a fret 3 string obviously, but would u use your middle finger for the next d string 5 fret or would u use your ring finger for the d string 5 fret? Of course the d string 7 fret note is the pinky. I use my middle finger but its one hell of a stretch between the two. I assume the middle finger limber up over time? my pinky makes it to the 7 fret no problem.
WWSD? What would stevie do?

I use my middle finger for this and I get no problem at all.

I don't think that anybody uses the ring finger to do this, it would be realy harder to controle your playing.

try this chord to improve your finger strength

e----
b----
g----
D-5--
A-3--
E-1--

Play this every where on the frettboard till you get used to it.

I forgot what this was about for a sec... fingering yes no matter how many times I hear it at lessons, and in conversation and so forth i've never gotten used to the phrase. Any advice? Ya Holly grow up!

Sly:

You use your index and middle finger to play a powerchord below the 57th fret?? you spastic? *LOL* (just kiddin) i mean - we are talking about the normal , non-magical middlefinger - not a middlefinger +1 or something.. *L*

Azrael :

So how would you like to play it? :p

And who told you that my middle finger is non-magical? Perhaps it will never be as precious as it's elder brother (the one with the balls bag), but it still does some magic (when my big one's a little tired) ;)

Anybody here got the feeling that this room has got nothing to do with guitar any more?

Have you noticed that the difference between barre Major and Minor chords is the middle finger ?

Very magical , see. ;)
