Hi Dave,

I'm really digging you're SRV artist study. One thing that keeps hanging me up is on the 12 Bar Blues lesson where you alternate pick the rhythm. If I don't do the little hop that gives it it's flavor I alternate pick with no problem. But If I put in the little hop I keep wanting to only down pick it. Any advise?

Thanks Dave!

Bill

Hi Bill!

Good to hear you are digging my SRV Artist Study. You might be trying to play it too fast before you actually have the swing feel down. Try playing the example slower with the required 'swing/shuffle' feel while keeping strict alternate picking. This will take some time and patience, so hang in there and keep working at it!

I'll be glad to help you personally and in more detail in a private 1 on 1 lesson here on Guitar Tricks. If I can see and hear you play it I can give more accurate advice. Here's the link with my available days, times, and prices.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Dave! I'll give that a try. I have been thinking about the 1 on 1 lessons. When I'm ready I'll definitely sign up.

Thanks again Dave!!
