I've been a Dead/Phish fan for many years now. I cried when Jerry Died, and tripped balls as Trey and the rest of the Phish Gang tore into "funky bitch" with the Son Seals. Jam music is definately an enlightening genre. If your a pissed-off teenager this style of music probably isn't for you.
