I've had a play around with a POD 2.0 at a music store and it's indeed the (as we brits say) dogs bollocks, it's really great, the people at line6 spend a LOT of time creating digital versions of classic analogue amps.

One thing I would suggest is the behringer V-amp, it's just as good (even better in my view) and it costs about half as much as a POD http://www.behringer.com

another good little gadget is a tech21 sansamp, which is slightly different but was originally designed to be a 'backline in a box' it's got a HUGE variety of tones, based on three main amps, fender, mesa/boogie and marshall, you can tweak them to get that warm fender sound, to a cranked ANGRY marshall JCM800 http://www.tech21nyc.com

hope that helps!

Yes it does.I picked one up,and am running it through a 1oo watt power amp into a Marshal 4x12 cab now.I'm using it as a pre amp,but have also tried it out through my friends Peavy Bandit.I'm still playing with all the settings now,but I really like the Fender Amps they have modeled.

I have a line6 flextone xl wich is a POD combo solution...
it sounds GREAT! You can have very grat sound variatins just by experimenting with the guitars volume pot and pickup selection. I have archieved a great, varm blues tone on the rectrifier (mesa bogie I think) by having full gain, the guitar volume turned to half, and the neck or middle neck "turned on".

I recomand the POD or other line6 products highly.

I have a Pod Pro and it is utterly utterly fantastic. Iā€™m kind of glad I never had one of these as a kid or I'd never have left the house ! It is worth running it through a nice rig, Im using a Tascam 4 track porta studio and a set of Alesis M1 active MK2 speakers and I can do anything I want in terms of sound. The Line 6 Guitar port is nice also.

Don't do the Boss GP20 Amp factory, it really sucks. I paid 150 for one and I got whey burnt !

I still haven't got to play one :( However, I plan on owning one. I saw Eric Johnson play a small venue and all he had was his strat, a POD 2.0 and a Fender Blues Jr. Huge sound. I gotta have it.
