I recently bought a Fender Champion 20 amp, whilst it's got a lot of effects built in, the metal effect ( distortion ) Doesn't sound that great to me, this is probably the limitations of a budget amp or me being a beginner?
So I was thinking about buying the boss distortion pedal, would this sound better than the in built distortion, or would it only be as good as the amp can play?
