Catch the Wind
Hey thought it was great when I saw Catch the Wind however it sounds a little fast and the wrong key. Based upon the vocals is this the "Bob Dylan" versions?

This is the version by Donovan, the original composer & performer.

I love the Donovan version, however I think he sings it in a higher key. My ear is not trained enough to know exactly. Although the singer on our tutorial is not singing it in the same key as Donovan I would have to sit with the "album" and listen than the video to hear the chords.

No, it sounds pretty close to the original. I think Donovan's original version is tuned slightly off of concert pitch A 440Hz, whereas Mike is tuned right at concert pitch. But Mike teaches it in the same key & tempo as the original version.
Maybe you are referencing a different version of the song?

No maybe I am just mistaking. I will play the album tomorrow if I can find the cord to my turntable hahahh I cleaned my studio, you know how that goes.

okay I just played the greatest hits version next to the video and it wasn't close to our tutorial. However your comment cleared up everything. Great song regardless. I like the slow version maybe because it's the first one I listen to.

We have had similar forum discussions. It's not logical to expect musicians to play music the same way each time. There's live versions and studio versions (some which can't be reproduced on tour). Electric vs. acoustic. Genre-tinted versions. Re-masters, re-releases and anniversary versions. New group members and different instruments bring variation too.
Then there are those who have a long career. D'ya think Chuck Berry plays his first tunes the same way 60 years after?
