after a long layoff and am ready to get back into this. I am going to focus on She Talks to Angels (Anders) - one of my all time fav songs by maybe my all time fav band.

Trying to get into open G tuning. When I start to "retune" my A string I really feel like its going to snap. Las time I tried this I snapped the string, i did, and I can feel it getting ready to happen again.

Snapping strings only to restring is not fun and I don't want to quit again in frustration :). Any ideas?
