A little intro...
I've been a drummer and part time singer in a couple of working bands for the past 5 years. I like to think I am a "good" drummer...play to serve the song...less is more. Hold things together when the other guys run into difficulties.

I'd been a "hobby" guitarist, aka a "Guitar owner" as opposed to "player" for 20 years before that...

For personal reasons, I've kind of hung up the sticks and been back working hard on guitar for about 12 months. Trying to get back to where I can Gig as a Rhythm Guitar player. I miss playing out...

Engineer by trade and I'm an admitted Gear hound and tone chaser...

One of my favorite TONES is my Tele through a Keeley Mod Blues Driver into a little Fender Reissue Champ.

On the other end of my tone spectrum - my R9 Les Paul , a Cable and my Mesa TA-30.

I like both ends of this range and most stuff in between!

In heavy "sponge" mode, learning and trying to come up to speed.... Playing everyday!

Chris

Welcome, Chris!

This is a great site to get up to speed very quickly. I'm progressing at seriously double speed since I joined here just recently and only had my guitar for a week.

The resources here are excellent.

Enjoy your new found joy and freedom to express yourself :)
The accidental guitarist.

A convert! Right on Chris, I'm sure your rhythm skills really help out.

It doesn't hurt. :D I had to laugh over at an acoustic Jam Sunday night when I caught myself counting us in! :D What was really funny was, I'm the new guy sitting in...and after that they LOOKED for me to count them in! :)
