Smash box effect???!!!

Hello all.

Yesterday, I went to the guitar store in order to buy a distortion. The Sales man showed me a couple of effects, but what catched my ear the most was an effect called:
SM7 Smash Box. Does any of you have it? Is it good?
What is the difference between distortion effect and a smash box? What does it mean "Low end"? And "High end"?
What is the best setting for metal solo? (extreme like).

i own the sm7 smash box by ibanez its a great pedal you have a switch for edge(sharp for heavyplaying and smooth for light rock playing)it also has void off 1 2(you can eliminate noise and feed back) it really is not a bad pedal. next time you go in there, tell them you would like to hear how the pedal sounds before you buy it
