I used to be like 'why would a hard rock band/song need anything but a humbucker? No I find I like recording overdriven stuff with my Strat cuz it lets to overdrive do the work and keeps it clean at the same time.
So anyway, you may not have the choice for a single coil or P90 but keep in mind that it's overdriven and yet clean-like.
