Hello all. I am glad to be a part of this fine community! I have not played in about 10 years....just picked up a new amp and dusted off the git-fiddles! Cant wait to get my chops back!

Hey Seth,

Great to have you here, welcome aboard!

One thing we can't get in California that I'm dying to see is the Northern Lights, have you seen them in AK?

Living up there in Alaska, I bet you have lots of time for practice in the winter months.

I can say that you can see them from North Dakota...Used to haul newspapers across the state every night....Middle of nowhere, Iron Maiden in the headphones, Mountain Dew and M&M's in the console and every once in a while, a Northern Lights show.

Those were the days.....

Neal --

The 'Lights sometimes reach way south...I think they made CO this winter already. But when I lived in AK what amazed me about the 'Lights was that you can sometimes *hear* them.

I know it sounds a bit strange but I bet Seth can back me up. :D

Woo hoo!  At long last, evidence (if not proof) that I'm not loony.  Not totally, anyway...  The noises of the northern lights https://www.theguardian.com/news/2023/jan/05/noises-of-the-northern-lights-weatherwatch?utm_term=63b6c9d5da856d92d3c3c8534e68b614&utm_campaign=GuardianTodayUS&utm_source=esp&utm_medium=Email&CMP=GTUS_email

Now... if I could just figure out the chord progression.  šŸ˜

Love that Chet Atkins quote, I've had a guitar for years but never devoted the time that's needed to get proficient at it. I'm 53 and if I'm gone get this new genre I like to call FL panhandle bluesdeathmetal going I better get going before arthritis sets in. Lol
