I've been on Guitar Tricks since April...Love the site. I am an accordionist with a Klezmer band and have been involved in music since I was 12 years old. Just bought a nice Takamine Classical Acoustic and having a great time. Not easy starting a new instrument when your almost 71 years old. Old age causes some problems. My left should is painful and I think it's because of having to develop holding it in a new position. Same thing happened to my right shoulder and collar bone when I started tuning pianos about 12 years ago. That pain left me and I hope the pain in my left shoulder leaves with more practice. Been to several doctors and a physical therapist. They all seem to think I have some soft tissue inflammation. Anyone else...even those younger and just starting...having the same type of problem?

Glad to be here.

Hey wrlutzow,

First, welcome to Guitar Tricks! We're glad you're here!

We're sorry to hear about the pain your experiencing. I would check out our Art of Practice lesson section and check out some of the warm up exercises. They might be able to help a bit.

Let us know if you have any questions! :)

-Best Regards
