Yea, i have a mxr distortion + and it is the best! you get that nice fat crunchy sound, that 80's metal sound. i used to have a dod grunge but it was CRAP. I plugged it in and its hissing was so loud. But you should still go to the store and try out some tho, because everybody has their own preferences in equipment.
