i'm just starting to get interested with jazz.
i went to a library today, and theres a ****load of jazz
books there, history of jazz, jazz chords, jazz improvisation jazz this and that...
Now, i just need names.
First, could you help me find the cream of the jazz guitarists...Names much appreciated.
And second, if you know any jazzsong that is completely blowing your mind everytime you hear it, please tell me.

Metal starts to get boring.

in the jazz category [in some ways]-- "How High The Moon" sounds very jazzy.

Although I haven't had time to find a record of his somebody reccomended this guy, Eddie Lang.

http://www.redhotjazz.com/lang.html

In a way a lot of Robert Johnson's stuff is nerve jangling- that's blues not jazz, but i don't know much about Jazz yet.

Oh, yeah -Alan Holdsworth is amazingly talented (depends on the day wether i can get into some of his stuff:)).

Accuracy,you say? hmm interesting concept..

It's true, Allan HOLDSWORTH is the crasiest motherf... to ever touch a guitar... But he isn't the easiest door to enter jazz.
I'd say listen to guys coming from rock background, like Robben FORD, Mike STERN, and work it up from there. The first Jazz CD I bought was "chops" by Joe Pass and Niels Orsden Petersen (can spell his name) and I thought they kept playing off key, but now, it sounds amazing.

Your ears need to be used to hearing that kind of complex harmony. Then, when you are used to it, move towards Allan HOLDSWORTH and other guys like that...

jazz guitarists; Here's some of my favorites ( I usuaully prefer the more aggressive, notier players)
Jimmy Bruno Joe Pass
Pat Martino
Herb Ellis
Pat Metheny
Most of these guys will have websites where you can download some stuff for listening, plus they will often have links to other jazz guitarists sites.
