Greetings From Washington State

Hello. My name is Mike Masten and I live near Olympia, Wa. on Eld Inlet. I started playing guitar a few years ago, after a life time of wanting to play an instrument but not taking the time or focus to do so. I'm sixty years old and I figure if I take of myself I will have 20 more years to play!

I got off to a slow start but eventually I learned about open G tuning and found I could bang out a lot of my favorite songs with one finger chords.

I own an Alvarez, a Taylor Big Baby and a Martin, the one with the laminated neck. I now play mostly in standard tuning.

Not many things are quite as rewarding as being able to play guitar, even at the entry level.

Looking forward to corresponding on this forum and using the resources to advance my learning.

Hey man I'm in WA too! Seattle area actually, you're definitely right about guitar its a complete release. I'm nearing my third year and feel pretty good about it. I can vouch this site has helped in the short time I've been here.
