Howdy from Minnesota.

I've been wanting to learn to play for 35 years but was always too busy with other things.

Well, I just bought a Gretsch Pro Jet. It's time!

LOL.... learning the guitar didn't interest me for the first 14 years of my life.

I'll be 49 soon..... never too old to learn. Right? :)

Thank-you for all the warm welcomes!

I don't get it ... why do people in their 40's consider themselves old on this site? Sure they're not 20 but 40 is hardly ancient.

At 40 you should have another 40 years left to live and possibly more if you're in good health and nothing comes along to take away those years.

So guys - get real and start enjoying life as well as the guitar.

Older beginner here and not thinking myself old at all - and I have a few extra years on you!

yeah, 52 now, started a year ago...it's the best feeling to be able to get a good sound out of my strat. It happens every once in a while. :-)

I'm sooo glad I found this site!

I agree. 40's is not old. I don't feel old and it's never to late to start. Think young, act young and that's what makes you young. I'm 48 going on 18 and can't wait to get this guitar playing rockin and rollin' cause I got several gigs lined up.
Jamn on !
