I'm 75. You're never too old.
Am I Too Old
Keith Richards says no and so do I! I'm 54. m/
You guys are so so so motivating. Thanks from the bottom of my heart. I'm a vocalist that thought i had to rely on another guitarist to write my own songs. I had all the excuses, left handed, chopped part of my index finger off, football wrist/shoulder and finger injuries, 41, depression, bla bla bla and yeah, im too old to start a new skill. Man, i'm glad i listened to my wife and got Guitar Tricks. Time to stop procrastinating and "Get ta work" It might take until i'm 50 to be happy enough with my skills to play in public but at least i can get started and hopfully inspire my kids along the way to do what they love. Peace out and God bless. I now have my 2020 vision:)

Good for you. I wish you every success.

There are many of us on here Valley who are older but committed to learning.
And it is harder for adults. So don't beat yourself up over progress. It takes me forever just to learn the simplest of licks or techniques but I get quite excited each time I learn something new.
Best of luck to you.
This year the diet is definitely gonna stick!

I'm 53 and just starting, I think you are never too old, If you have arthritus or pain you may just have to modify a little, but I'm doing to rock on. I think it will be a slow learn for me, but I always like a challenge and never like to lose.
Hi!!
You are never too old for anything!!
Just keep doing if you enjoy it!!
Guitar playing is a hobby that can accompany you all life, and always improving and getting satisfaction!!
I just turn 50 just keep on learning slowly at first and just practice that one thing until I got it then I do another small bit
each part with a meterome as a slow enough pace where I can keep a steady rythm
and I slowly begin to add the two pieces toghther
keep at it
I am where I want to be in playing guitar
NO
but I am where God wants me at this time
a neighbor once told me
take one bit at a time and you get there if you take too big of a bite you m Ishtar get overwhelmed which I do
well I hope this might of help
is a good idea, yeah? Lord please help me
Ok, I'll chime in too. I'll be 63 next month. Picked up a ukulele 2 years ago and last year bought myself a guitar for my birthday. I played around all year, writing songs, having fun ... basically with a small handful of chords that were easy for me. I just joined guitartricks yesterday and look forward to filling in all the gaps and learning to play well. Side note - playing music and singing is great for the brain ... alzheimers research says. :) Just sayin' Thrilled to be here. :)
