Why not write a lesson on this topic? I'm sure many will find it useful.

I'm working on the solo for Livin' After Midnight, but I can't get the few pinch harmonics it the middle. Any help would be great.

Here are a few lessons on pinch harmonics on the site:

Pinch Harmonics

Pinch Harmonics 2

It's quite hard to see what a player is doing when he/she plays pinch harmonics because of the subtle movement, but the idea is to get your thumb (usually) to touch the string right after you pick it. This cancels everything but a high pitch overtone.

Definitely a technique that's difficult to explain, let alone explaining over the internet and not in person.

As Lindholm said, you clip the string with your thumb after you pick. Well, its something moreso done simultaneously. You hold the pick in such a way to where the pick and your thumb both clip the string. And not only that, you get different results based on where you hit string, just to make things more confusing.

Honestly, I ended up understanding how to do it when I did it on accident :p
