I have Reaper version 3.4, I am wondering if there is a way to strip the vocals out of a song using the program? There are some songs that I like the rhythm sound and I want to play against them as a backing track. I have a hard time hearing only what I want with the vocals playing so I am hoping I can strip them away. Thanks for the help!
God said to Abraham, ā€œKill me a sonā€
Abe says, ā€œMan, you must be puttinā€™ me onā€
God say, ā€œNo.ā€ Abe say, ā€œWhat?ā€
God say, ā€œYou can do what you want Abe, but
The next time you see me cominā€™ you better runā€
Well Abe says, ā€œWhere do you want this killinā€™ done?ā€
God says, ā€œOut on Highway 61ā€

I have reaper as well. My guess is that unless you have the original source tracks that you wont be able to. You would need the individual tracks so that you could isolate the vocal track and mute it.

Thats just a guess though.

Yep, I use Reaper too
As Rick says unless you have vocals on a seperate track you cannot remove them

Whilst recording with Reaper recently a friend pointed out that Reaper has a
'pitch shifter ' feature;
If the Vocals are slightly 'Out ' it can put into tune with this ... feature
It was tricky and time consuming, but it was my first attempt
