I recently got a new amp! It's a Bambino combo, the all tube home studio amp from Reason Amps.
www.reasonamps.com
The amp designer is a long-time friend of mine from old school days back in St. Louis where I grew up. We've kept in touch over the years. When he told me he was launching his own company I knew I'd have to check out the result. So, I met with the guys from Reason at the Nashville Amp Show and was amazed with this little box! I bought one and they agreed to make me an endorsed artist. I also got permission from them to do some demos.
(Full disclosure: I don't get paid to do these. I don't get a piece of the action for any sales or referrals. I really just love how this machine works and wanted to be associated with it!)
The idea here is to demonstrate the basic settings & parameters of the amp with different guitars.
1. Epiphone jazz box into normal channel.

2. Epiphone jazz box into bright channel.

3. Epiphone jazz box into stack channel.

4. Fender Strat into normal channel.

5. Fender Strat into bright channel.

6. Fender Strat into stack channel.

I hope you enjoy watching & listening to these as much I did making them! I'll be incorporating this amp into as many future lessons as possible, too. :)
My Bambino from Reason Amps

Hey Chris,
First, is there anything you "CAN'T" do on a guitar?
Sounds like a nice amp. I would really like to hear what it can do with some humbuckers in a strat style body. You feel like demoing something like that?
Oh and tell them you want your own signature model. ;)

Sounds like a great amp, but I think Mr. Schlegel's playing has a lot to do with that :)
I'm thinking that you should convince them into giving a special price for us GT members!

It's better to regret something that you have done than something you haven't.

Absolutely! There's always a new piece, song, lick, trick, technique to learn. Search YouTube for Eliot Fisk, Joe Pass, Paul Gilbert. That's the stuff I look to and think, "Man! If I can just a handle on one of those licks ..." :)
I never stop trying to improve. And at any level of ability it takes time and effort just to maintain the chops.
It is a wonderful amp. It is a superior piece of craftsmanship from the design to the electronics, cab, assembly, aesthetics, the whole package is quite stunning. This amp perfectly fits my bias, my desired tone out of a machine in a lot of ways.
Years ago, I used various combinations of Marshall & Fender half-stacks. Either separately or together as the gig called for. The Marshall for clean-grit to full roar, and the Fender for ultra-clean to warm-gain, etc.
Reason's whole line is like having the perfect combination of both of those in one box ready to roll! If it was 20 years ago I'd be buying a half-stack from them. :) But since I'm old, boring and married, this Bambino is like having the perfect little scaled down hot-moded Marshall & Fender combo all in one box without having to mod anything!
I've just done some lessons with my black Strat with the Dimarzio HotRails humbucker. Wow, that is a monster tone. I'll get it in the work queue for editing and uploading soon.
Thanks for checking it out, Rick!

Thanks for the compliments, but the amp really does help! :)
If anyone is truly interested in one, please feel free to contact them via their site. As far as special pricing for GT members, I can't speak for the Reason Amps guys.
Again, I am not a paid endorser. And this is a brand new start-up company. So, I really don't know how that would play out, but it might be worth mentioning and asking.
Thanks for checking it out!

These new demos are the result of a discussion I had with the guys at Reason Amps. They mentioned the lack of demos that explicitly focused on the clean, cleanish tones that are possible with a classic humbucker style guitar & the Reason amp line.
So, I plugged a Gibson Les Paul into my Bambino & hit record!
First, I explore the Normal channel:

Next, I switch over to the Bright channel:

Finally, I even pull some nice clean(ish!) tones out of Stack mode:

Enjoy!

Thanks alot for sharing with us your experience with that beautifull amp.
I just love the sound you get out of the bambino on all your videos.
That amp just made it to my wish list. I just have to find a dealer that ships to canada :)
Edit: Here's an online guitar shop I got on reasonamps.com that sells the Bambino Reason and ships international if anyone is interested :)
