For soloing, just use the pentatonic minor scale and a clean sound, with a wah wah... You'll be close.
As for the 'sound' you might want to try doing little 'gimmicks' (in french we refer them as 'cocottes' that is 'chicken') where you just play little licks of 4/5 notes and play them on and on for the whole song. Otherwise, use only upstrokes chords (you can play them downstrokes, but on the upbeat) and let you hair grow in dreadlocks... Rastafari, Brotha!
