songs

Ive seen it all over this site and I know that GT cant post songs because of laws and all....
but I see so many online guitar lesson sites that offer tutorials on playing specific songs..lists of them too. I still prefer and will stay with this site however I was wondering why GT wasnt on the band wagon and it is something that is not provided because of cost? Are all those other sites offering songs illegally?
Will GT get to the point of having a list of approved songs?

Enforcement of the law is really sporadic. Every few years the publishers come through close down several guitar sites over this issue. We have seen this enough times to want to be really cautious. Other people are not so cautious.

We have been working on this all year, and it has taken all year to get through the various legal issues.

So I would guess that most of the sites you see, who don't have the resources we do, have not obtained the proper licenses.
