I found this photographers website that's got tons of great 70's rock bands including my fave, Eddie. I heard about him slamming a humbucker into a strat, but here's an actual pic of it at the Starwood in 1976:

http://www.musikfoto.com/rockpics.php?tsk=display&id=1088&tag=Van and he's got the switch in the neck position, which is rare. There's also some shots of hime playing a white Gibson Explorer

Does anybody have any cool band shots they took themselves? that would be fun to see.

Actually, that might be the Shark (an Ibanez Destroyer) before he altered it!

This blog has EVH holding the Shark in an old pic:

Also, lots of his other guitars. Rare pix of the Ripley stereo guitar he used on Top Jimmy and the Flying V used on Hot For Teacher. Good stuff!

Yeah, I was thinking that it might be the 'shark' guitar too.

My roommate in Hollywood worked for the mgr. at Guitar Center on Sunset, Dave. He let me play one of Eddie's guitars they had in the window..the action was really high but it was still really cool to play it :D

Thanks for the pic link, great photos!
