This is really a great book! While reading it I noticed that it really compliments the Fundamental lessons. The lessons really helped me to understand the more complicated book and vice versa. It is easy to read and understand however after learning the fundamentals it made the book make much more sense.

Also it has pages about hardware, sound equipment, special effects, and recording. It goes into guitar maintenance, repair and customizing. It is really a great book I enjoyed reading it and learned a lot from it. Like fundamentals 2 I am sure I will go back to the book often for reference.

Now I am looking for the next book to add to my library and would like to hear about any other books folks have enjoyed reading. Especially books that are more theory based. I would really like a book to learn how to read music. Any suggestions? Thanks,

Ed

Do you mean the one by Ralph Denyer? Yeah, I have that. It is really, really good. :)

Hi Ed,

In my private lesson practice, I have students use Aaron Scherer's beginning Classical Guitar book(s) to learn to read music. In my opinion, they are well laid out, and very methodical in their approach.

The Ralph Denyer book is great. I've had my copy since 91' and I refer many of my students to it. I could not recommend it enough!
