In this new design, I had envisioned advanced search as the place to go when you have a very specific idea of what you are looking for. Unfortunately, it had some bugs. These are now fixed.

Meanwhile, it seems there is a concensus among long-time subscribers that the old lesson filtering functions were useful and should be brought back.

I have just updated the main "styles" page to use these filters again.

Here is an example:

http://www.guitartricks.com/style.php?input=Blues#Tutorial

If you are interested in these kinds of sorting options, I would really like your feedback on this.

How is advanced search working for you?

Do you find the new filtering options on "styles" pages helpful?

Where else would you like to see filtering options?

Thanks for your help and patience on this.

In my opinion that is definitely on the right track! For me just being able to sort by difficulty is a big help. I am easily sucked in to the hard stuff when I should be doing the easy stuff.

I used to use the BOOKMARKS a lot, but since the update I just use favorites because I don't see a way to sort the boomarks anymore.

I think it would be great if that drop menu was also on the instructors individual pages.

Basically it seems to me that the search options are pretty toned down compared to the way they used to be. There was some big time ways to sort the lessons and you could do it from just about anywhere on the site.

ALL in all it is looking good. Keep up the good work guys.

oldtimehobbies,
Thanks for your comments.

I put the filtering system in new lessons, popular lessons, search and bookmarks.

I will add it other places over the next few weeks.
